One Premier League club has just received a big cash windfall from a transfer sale and has turned their attention towards a Chelsea player.

Chelsea supporters may have been solely focusing on all the new signings arriving at Stamford Bridge recently, but there’s still several stars linked with potential transfer exits.

The Blues have already sold Omari Hutchinson, Lewis Hall and Ian Maatsen this window. Incidentally, Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks Chelsea will regret selling Maatsen, as quoted by talkSPORT.

Surely, plenty more will follow to trim down what’s looking like a large group going into the new season.

Bournemouth looking at Armando Broja

Bournemouth recently completed the sale of Dominic Solanke, the former Chelsea academy player, to Premier League rivals Tottenham. Spurs wrapped up a deal for the English striker worth up to £65m (BBC).

Respected journalist Simon Phillips has now reported via Substack that Bournemouth may have turned their attention towards Chelsea’s Armando Broja as a potential replacement in attack.

It is understood that Bournemouth have registered a “serious interest” in the 22-year-old Blues striker. He added that this potential transfer is “one to watch” during the remainder of the summer window.

This comes after The Express reported earlier in the summer that Broja is expected to be sold by Chelsea in this window.

The centre-forward was involved on the club’s recent pre-season tour in the United States. However, The Athletic reports Broja is one of the senior individuals currently training away from the first-team squad at Cobham while his future is sorted.

Is Bournemouth a good fit for Armando Broja?

For Broja, he definitely needs a move before the transfer window closes on 30 August. His next switch needs to be somewhere he’s going to start games regularly, too.

There’s obviously a massive void now at Bournemouth following the exit of Solanke, who scored 19 Premier League goals for them last season.

It would be big shoes to fill for Broja if a move to the Cherries materialises, but there may be an opportunity there to get back on track and start to realise his potential.

Ultimately, the fast attacker has to start consistently and avoid a repeat of last season, where he had a nightmare loan with Fulham in the second half of it. He failed to score in eight league matches for Fulham, but didn’t get to start a single game.
