It’s been reported that Chelsea’s transfer target may become available in 2025.

It was a busy summer transfer window for the Blues recently, where the club were extremely busy with so many incomings and outgoings. They weren’t able to land all their targets in one window, though.

Enzo Maresca’s side failed to add a senior centre-forward to the Chelsea squad, but it’s not been a problem in the opening stages of the season.

So far, Nicolas Jackson has four goals in five Premier League games. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku has six goals in eight matches across all competitions.

Ian Wright has backed Jackson to develop into a prolific goalscorer, but he’s currently got Nkunku breathing down his neck for the No.9 position.

Chelsea target Jhon Duran may be available

According to GiveMeSport, Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran may be available for transfer amid interest from the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United and AC Milan.

It is explained that Villa manager Unai Emery has remained open to selling the 20-year-old striker when the transfer window reopens because he’s still behind Ollie Watkins in the pecking order at the Premier League club.

The report says that Chelsea have refused to rule out the possibility of making a fresh move for Duran in 2025 after they were linked with a move in the summer. Apparently, the Blues had permission to speak with the player but they wouldn’t meet his £40m asking price.

GMS adds that Villa will stand by their £40m valuation for the centre-forward in January.

Jhon Duran is a goal machine

Duran’s started this new season with five goals in seven games across all competitions, but the figures are even more impressive when you break them down.

The youngster has four goals in five Premier League appearances this term, which he’s done without starting a single match. Remarkably, he’s average a goal every 33 minutes in the top flight this season.

Emery described Duran as a “special” player last season via BBC Sport. It looks like he’s only getting better and better every time he steps on the pitch, too.
