Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly begun making their moves for Juventus striker and reported Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic, according to journalist Niccolo Ceccarini.

Despite having only been at Juventus for just over a year, the 23-year-old has recently been linked with several Premier League clubs.

According to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are among a number of clubs interested in Vlahovic.

The Serbia international is said to be not as happy in Juventus as he was in Fiorentina despite his good goalscoring record under Massimiliano Allegri.

Ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s potential exit, Vlahovic who has six goals in 10 starts for Juventus in Serie A this term, seems to be a sensible target for the Blues.

According to Italian journalist Ceccarini, however, Chelsea can expect fierce competition from Premier League rivals if they decide to pursue Vlahovic.

“A hot summer seems to be on the horizon for forwards. One of them is definitely Vlahovic,” the journalist said about the Juventus striker (via Juvenews).

“The Premier League now travels in a different gear and has the potential to present very high offers. And Italy remains a favourite shopping destination.

“Arsenal had already tried to get him before there was a move to Juventus. The idea remained and at the end of the season, a new attempt is very likely.

“In England, however, he is not the only one, Manchester United have also started to move. In short, the situation is evolving.”

With Chelsea being 10 points away from the top four spots in the Premier League, a lack of Champions League football could put them at a disadvantage against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race for Vlahovic.

Obviously, Chelsea’s recent spending spree suggests that this might not be a decisive stumbling block as these days, players also consider clubs’ long-term projects before making any transfer decision.
