Chelsea will make their move to sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo this week.
That is according to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano has reported on Twitter that Chelsea will soon open talks with Premier League rivals Brighton about Moises Caicedo’s potential transfer.
It is understood that the clubs will start discussions within the next 24 to 48 hours.
He adds that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are “prepared to attack the deal” as they look to sign the 21-year-old Brighton star.

It’s yet another fascinating update from the transfer guru.
“Chelsea are set to open talks with Brighton for Moises Caicedo as negotiations between clubs starting within 24/48h,” Romano said.
“Personal terms, not as issue — now Chelsea prepared to ‘attack’ the deal.
“Never easy or fast negotiations with Brighton. Chelsea, on it.”

Finally, it sounds like Chelsea will press down the accelerator to try bring Caicedo to Stamford Bridge. This comes after weeks of transfer speculation, but we’ve seen plenty of outgoings to highlight where the recent focus has been.
Described as “unbelievable” by Chris Sutton on BT Sport Score (29 April, 2023), Caicedo really impressed last year in the Premier League.
At the age of 21, he showed great maturity and quality last season in the Brighton midfield.
The Ecuador international defends aggressively with his tackling and intercepting. There’s real quality to go with that when he’s in possession, too.
He’s an all-action defensive midfielder that we think could really help Chelsea in the No 6 position to help cover the backline.
