Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Thomas Tuchel has made Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang his top target this summer.
However, the transfer specialist has hinted that the price tag Barcelona have set on the striker may price the Blues out of a deal.
The former Arsenal man emerged as a shock target a couple of weeks ago, for the Blues, as they consider late options to bolster their striking options for this season.

Goals were again mentioned as an area where Chelsea could add to following last weekend’s draw to Spurs, with their opponents’ ability to score from only a handful of chances seeing them rescue a point.
This has reportedly seen Tuchel establish interest in a reunion with Aubameyang, although Romano has claimed that the fee Barcelona are demanding could see them priced out of a deal.
Tuchel makes Aubaemyang priority
He said: “Barcelona have asked around €30m fee for Pierre Aubameyang during the weekend, Chelsea wanted to spend way less than this. Talks continue, as Marcos Alonso is still part of the conversations.
“Tuchel, pushing for Aubameyang as priority… but Xavi insists to keep him.”

While the age of Aubameyang would certainly mean he will not become an option for the future, however his previous record in the Premier League could see him become a viable option for a season or two.
Despite their public falling out, Mikel Arteta still described him as “exceptional” when asked a few weeks.
With Armando Broja the only recognised striker in the squad currently, the Gabonese international could be the perfect mentor for the 20-year-old, who is still yet to be proven at a club the level of Chelsea.
There is obviously Kai Havertz competing for minutes down the middle, however his finishing is still yet to be proven, with a big miss yesterday against Spurs only adding fuel to that fire.
