Fulham have now pulled out of a deal to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea this summer.
That is according to Tom Roddy of The Times.
So, what is the latest on Callum Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, it looked as if the England international was certain to join the Cottagers.
The Evening Standard believe Hudson-Odoi agreed personal terms with Fulham, although the west Londoners are refusing to meet Chelsea’s £8m asking price.
Fulham believe the Blues are demanding too much for the Londoner, as he only has 12 months remaining on his £120,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Evening Standard’s story was posted on Monday afternoon, and states that Hudson-Odoi is desperate to leave Chelsea before transfer deadline day.
Now, Roddy has provided a fresh update.

The Times journalist claims that Fulham have now completely backed out of a deal to sign Hudson-Odoi.
Roddy does not mention why Marco Silva’s side have abandoned the move, although it is safe to presume that it has something to do with Chelsea’s £8m asking price, as mentioned by the Evening Standard.
Chelsea should lower asking price for Callum Hudson-Odoi
In our view, Chelsea would be foolish to price Hudson-Odoi out of a move, especially as he wants to leave.
Mauricio Pochettino surely doesn’t want an unhappy player lingering around Cobham until January, and it makes no sense to insist on an £8m fee if other sides do not feel that represents good value for money.

Regardless of the fee Chelsea get for Hudson-Odoi, it would be a huge financial boost to simply get his £120,000-a-week salary off the wage bill, so the Blues should be looking to help him depart, rather than complicate things.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as we still expect the 22-year-old to leave Chelsea this summer.
