Chelsea are now involved in a seriously tense situation involving Moises Caicedo and Liverpool.

That is according to Sacha Tavolieri.

So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Moises Caicedo? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – as you have surely heard – a lot has happened between Chelsea, Liverpool and the Ecuador international.

After chasing Caicedo throughout the entire summer, Chelsea were rocked by the news that Liverpool had seen a £110m bid accepted by Brighton.

However, the South American chose to stay loyal to the side who have tried to sign him all summer, and told the Reds he would prefer a move to Stamford Bridge.

Despite that, Chelsea are still yet to have a bid of their own accepted by the Seagulls, leaving Caicedo waiting for his dream move to west London to go through.

In an attempt to sum up the bizarre nature of this situation, Tavolieri admitted he’s rarely seen anything like this.

The Belgian journalist wrote on Twitter: “In my opinion, I’ve rarely seen a more messy situation than what’s going now between Chelsea and Liverpool. The tension is at its peak.”

Chelsea have to reward Moises Caicedo

In our view, Chelsea have to reward Caicedo for his loyalty by getting this deal done quickly for him.

The Blues dragged their heels over Brighton’s £100m asking price all summer long, and that has now resulted in them having to pay more due to Liverpool’s British record transfer bid.

Leaving Caicedo in the wilderness like this is not fair – especially after he refused to play or train for Brighton in an attempt to force through a move to Chelsea, as detailed by the Guardian.

Now, it is down to the Blues to act appropriately and get this move finalised.

The longer Chelsea leave Caicedo unable to play football as they haggle with Brighton, the worse those at Stamford Bridge will come out of the situation looking.
