RB Leipzig are looking at replacing Christopher Nkunku this summer with Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun, who’s been linked as a Chelsea transfer target this summer.

That is according to a report from Football.London.

German club Leipzig sold Christopher Nkunku, 25, to Chelsea earlier in the summer window.

The French forward is certainly going to leave a huge hole in their line-up, scoring 23 goals in 36 games across all competitions last season.

Therefore, Leipzig have set their sights on Folarin Balogun to try replace Nkunku’s goals.

Arsenal-owned striker Balogun really made a name for himself last year with a brilliant season-long loan spell at French club Reims, scoring 22 times in 39 matches across all competitions last season.

Balogun is returning to Arsenal for pre-season this summer, but will he be in Mikel Arteta’s squad beyond the transfer window?

There’s been recent transfer speculation that Chelsea like the 22-year-old Gunners forward.

In fact, Football Transfers claimed earlier this month that the Blues have opened talks with Balogun’s representatives about a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Football.London claims that Arsenal have made Balogun available to sign this summer for the right fee.

It is understood that the Gunners want around £50million for the talented striker, who’s recently made his United States senior debut at international level.

The report claims that Leipzig are among the clubs interested in signing Balogun and are searching to replace Nkunku.

Meanwhile, Premier League sides Crystal Palace and West Ham are interested buyers.
