Some Chelsea figures have liked Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez for a long time.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones.
We’ve heard recent transfer speculation that the Blues are interested in Lautaro Martinez, who scored 28 goals in 57 games for Inter last season.
The Daily Mail claimed last month that Chelsea could prioritise a move to sign Martinez during this summer transfer window. Incidentally, InterLive claimed the Argentine forward could cost at least €80million (£70million).
Now, it turns out he’s been in Chelsea’s sights for a while.

Journalist Dean Jones has explained that officials within Chelsea have admired Inter’s centre-forward for ages.
“So with Lautaro, there are people within the club that really like him and have done for quite some time. As of last week, there hadn’t been any actual contact for Lautaro, but obviously that can now change now that the season’s done for him,” Jones told GiveMeSport.

Martinez has just wrapped up a fantastic individual campaign at the San Siro, albeit it ended in disappointment when Inter lost to Manchester City in the Champions League final.
The ‘aggressive’ attacker finished just shy of the 30-goal mark, which is a fantastic indicator for a top forward.
Also, it’s no surprise he provided 11 assists because he’s very effective at linking up play.
We’re not certain about him being a focal point as an out-and-out striker by himself, but he’s a lot better than anything in the Chelsea ranks right now.
