Marc Cucuella is determined to stay at Chelsea after a difficult first year at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to The Evening Standard.
They claim that Marc Cucurella, 24, is desperate to remain in Chelsea colours to put things right next season.
It is understood that the left-back wants to fight for a starting position and impress his new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, during pre-season.
The report adds that the Spanish defender has discouraged interest in him after Chelsea sounded out clubs in Saudi Arabia over a potential transfer. He’s not tempted by the interest from Atletico Madrid this summer either.

Unfortunately, Cucurella had a first season to forget last year at Chelsea.
The £110,000-a-week (Salary Sport) star arrived from Brighton last summer with big expectation on his shoulders, but he never really settled into a consistent run of form.
Much like the team’s performance last year, Cucurella looked erratic at times and seemed to be playing with zero confidence.
We’re delighted to hear he’s ready to try right some wrongs next season, though.
The arrival of Pochettino into the manager’s dugout at Chelsea should be a fresh start for this squad of players, so now is the time to roll your sleeves up and fight for a spot in the XI.

Journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport last month that Cucurella could be getting a lifeline next season from Pochettino.
The attack-minded left-back could be a really good option for Chelsea if he can recapture his Brighton form, so we can see the benefits of giving him another shot.
Let’s hope that the supporters are willing to give him a fair crack next season, too!
