Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek reportedly wants to stay at Stamford Bridge despite not starting regularly.
According to Football.London, Loftus-Cheek is content with his current role in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
The report says the £150,000-a-week Blues midfielder likes his position under Tuchel, so his focus right now is on his football in west London.
It is understood there’s interest from Italian top-flight clubs in signing the 26-year-old on a permanent basis, but he would need to take a salary cut for any transfer to happen.
It’s been claimed Serie A side Lazio are keen on a deal for Loftus-Cheek this summer, eyeing him as a replacement for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic if he’s sold. It would mean a reunion with ex-Blues manager Maurizio Sarri, too.

Loftus-Cheek wants to stay at Chelsea
In fairness, Loftus-Cheek surprised many people by how much he did play this season
He certainly wasn’t a regular starter you could bank on playing each week, but he’s someone his manager would turn to.
The central midfielder made 40 appearances across all competitions, including 24 in the Premier League.
The Englishman deserves big credit for reigniting his Blues career after a dodgy loan spell. Therefore, it’ll be interesting to see if he can kick on in the new season.
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta spoke last month about how much better Loftus-Cheek has got this year, which is a great indication of his role in the squad.
He offers the kind of physicality and presence that makes him a different option in the centre of the park.
