Tino Anjorin might return to Chelsea after suffering an ankle injury whilst on loan at Huddersfield Town.

Yorkshire Live broke the news that the 21-year-old is set to be out for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery on the issue.

Anjorin has battled with fitness over the past two seasons, meaning he is yet to hit the ground running following successive loan spells away from Stamford Bridge.

He was forced to cut his contract with Lokomotiv Moscow last term early due to a broken metatarsal.

On this occasion, the forward returned to Chelsea as part of his recovery process.

Once restored to fitness, Thomas Tuchel sent the academy graduate away again, but this time to Huddersfield.

His eight appearances coincided with the Terriers’ run to the Championship playoff final, a fixture they fell short in against Nottingham Forest.

The club’s fortunes have completely changed this campaign, however.

Huddersfield are currently rock bottom of the second division, a significant six points from safety.

Yet, Anjorin’s bad luck has clearly stayed the same.

It is not certain when he will kick a ball competitively again, but it definitely won’t be soon.

A similar approach to the one whilst he was a Lokomotiv player might be taken again, with Huddersfield boss Mark Fotheringham echoing such a decision.

“We’re going to assess it now with Chelsea and support him as much as we can with the medical staff,” Fotheringham said.

We wish you all the best, Tino.
