Franck Kessie reportedly has zero desire to sign for Chelsea this month.

According to 90min, the Barcelona midfielder is not interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have apparently enquired with the Spanish side about recruiting Kessie in January, as they attempt to bolster their midfield options.

However, the player himself is seemingly not concerned about pitting his talents against the Premier League best.

Instead, 90min claim the 26-year-old wants to ‘fight for his place under Xavi’, following a disappointing start to life at the Camp Nou.

He’s only made eight appearances in La Liga since moving from AC Milan as a free agent last summer.

The Ivory Coast international has been nothing but a back up to the main stars this season, having previously held a prominent position at the San Siro.

Franck Kessie isn’t heading to Chelsea

Doubts over Kessie’s status at Barca clearly caused Chelsea to chase after his signature.

A deal that sounds like it will not take off.

Todd Boehly and his team even suggested a short-term contract for the ex-Milan man, an offer he wasn’t clearly not keen on.

This failed attempt is the latest in Chelsea’s struggles to land a new midfielder.

They have been rejected by Benfica for Enzo Fernandez, could be priced out of a move for Moises Caicedo, and their enquiries for Yves Bissouma were refused by Tottenham Hotspur.
