Chelsea target Adrien Rabiot would reportedly rather a move to the Premier League over joining Barcelona.

Juventus star Rabiot, 27, will be out of contract with the Italian giants at the end of the season.

The left-footed central midfielder has been enjoying a great World Cup tournament this winter with France, who are in Sunday’s final against Argentina.

Calciomercato reported last month that Chelsea are willing to match Rabiot’s £8million-per-year wage demand to sign him.

Fresh speculation suggests the Frenchman would actually prefer a switch to Stamford Bridge than to the Camp Nou.

Rabiot would rather Premier League over Barcelona

According to 90min, Todd Boehly’s Chelsea have been in “regular contact” with Rabiot’s representatives about signing him.

It is understood there’s rival interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham, too.

The report adds Juventus have offered Rabiot to Barcelona in recent weeks, but the player himself is prioritising a switch to England over Spain.

Rabiot has shown during his club and international career he’s got all the qualities of a top-class midfielder.

It would be great to see this dynamic player playing in England for the first time, so it’s great news for the Premier League that he wants to come.

For Chelsea, there would be some risk behind any transfer because Rabiot can be inconsistent at times. You can’t help but admirer how effective he can be as a ball carrier when he’s in the mood, though.

Let’s see how Graham Potter’s Chelsea line-up takes shape in the next few months before deciding if there’s a place for Rabiot.
