Timo Werner is reportedly ready to try push for a move away from Chelsea this summer.

90min claims the Blues centre-forward could try seek an exit at the end of the season, and he’s “very interested” in a return to the Bundesliga two years on from leaving RB Leipzig.

The report explains German side Borussia Dortmund are ready to try sign the £45million Chelsea attacker.

Apparently, they’ve already made contact about the 26-year-old and are ready to focus on bringing in forward targets.

Werner’s return of 19 goals in 80 appearances only tells half the story of his time at Stamford Bridge.

Unfortunately, the Germany international has fallen miles short of the big expectation surrounding him following a move to the Premier League.

It visually seems like he’s a player without much confidence right now, scoring just one league goal all season.

Lothar Matthaus has even suggested this week that Werner’s best choice could be to move away from West London and start fresh.

It wouldn’t be a major surprise to see him recapture his best form if he ends up somewhere like Dortmund.

The best Chelsea attack

Werner seems a long way from the best attacking combination available to Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel right now.

There has been a great balance in the past few weeks with Kai Havertz in a central role. In addition, a combination of either Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech or Christian Pulisic can work really effectively off of him in wide positions.

Romelu Lukaku’s definitely got the ability to force his way back into the best line-up. However, it looks a long steep road for Werner to do the same.
