AC Milan are planning to intensify their conversations with Chelsea about potentially signing Hakim Ziyech this summer.
According to Sky Sports Italia, Milan are big admirers of the Moroccan midfielder and would like to open a dialogue about his transfer away from London.
Ziyech signed for Chelsea last year, with his debut campaign ending rather underwhelmingly.
In 39 appearances, he scored six goals and provided four assists.
He was used in bit parts by Thomas Tuchel, a similar stance he endured during Frank Lampard’s tenure.
The 28-year-old did show flashes of his excellence, particularly in his first start for the Blues, a 4-0 Champions League win over Krasnodar in which he scored.
Lampard praised Ziyech for his performance that night, saying: “He brought a lot of quality and calmness when he was on the pitch, and got a well-deserved goal.”
But those moments have been few and far between for the man who announced himself at Ajax a few season’s ago.
Milan are already plotting a double transfer swoop on Tuchel’s squad.
Fikayo Tomori looks set to sign permanently, following his successful loan spell.
Olivier Giroud has also been tipped to swap Stamford Bridge for the San Siro, despite the Blues extending his contract.
Nothing is set in stone for the Chelsea trio. However, everything could change over the next few months.
Roman Abramovich is desperate to make funds in order to sign Erling Haaland. He won’t shy away from removing assets to reach his target.
