Reports have claimed that it would now be a surprise if Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher left the club this summer.
According to The Athletic, the dwindling numbers in the midfield position could now see him remain despite claims he could have been on the move during this transfer window.
It had been reported that Chelsea may have been considering cashing in on Gallagher this summer, given their need to raise funds this summer.

After receiving a big bid for his services back in January, it is likely that someone will have made a tempting offer at some point in this window for the 23-year-old.
However, while the England international has been busy committing his future to the club, he has seen a number of midfield options around him begin to depart the club.
Gallagher now likely to stay
N’golo Kante’s contract expired, and he treated himself to a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic now has the opportunity to play under Pep Guardiola for Manchester City.
With Mason Mount now all set to leave too, options are limited for players to feature in the middle of the park.

There have been plenty of claims that the Blues are pushing hard to complete a deal to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
After a very impressive season for the overachieving Seagulls, he has been determined to be the perfect midfield partner in the long term for club-record addition Enzo Fernandez.
Even with these two at the club, it would be more than useful for Gallagher to remain waiting in the wings as an option off the bench, especially after claims that new manager Mauricio Pochettino is actually a big fan of the player.
