Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League in the summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old wants to leave Dutch giants Ajax in the summer and there have already been talks with Barcelona.
It is understood though that the 15-time capped Cameroon international would prefer a move to England and his ideal destination would be Stamford Bridge.
The report also details that he could be keen on a mov etc Tottenham, while he would cost between £40-50million for any club to sign.
Chelsea currently have the goalkeeper position as a problem area in the squad, with Kepa Arrizabalaga recently dropped as number one following a string of poor performance this season.
That meant that 38-year-old veteran Willy Caballero stepped in-between the sticks for the recent 2-2 draw with Leicester City and it’s unclear on how long manager Frank Lampard will leave Kepa on the bench for.
Meanwhile, Spurs have their own issues in net with Hugo Lloris not quite the same player he once was.
Onana has really rose to fame in recent years with his performances for Ajax and was part of the young exciting side that made it to the Champions League semi-finals last season.
He’s extremely young to be a number one goalkeeper, but is someone that commands his box well with his height and has great reflexes.
The African goalkeeper has a brilliant record of 72 clean sheets in 171 first-team appearances for Ajax.
Chelsea should certainly look at bringing Onana to the club in the summer if they want to sign a new goalkeeper, as £40million looks a decent bit of business and it doesn’t look like personal terms would be tough to agree.
But there are some who would like to see Kepa get a second chance due to the form he showed last year and it’s a big decision for Lampard to make.
