Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes’s agent Plini Zahavi has reportedly held talks with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia over a potential free transfer.
The 19-year-old, whose contract at Old Trafford will end this summer, has turned down a £30,000-a-week deal offered by Manchester United, according to a report from the Mirror.
The report also said Gomes has recruited Zahavi, who has already been in contact with Chelsea’s Granovskaia.

Gomes made his first-team debut back in 2017, but is yet to claim a regular spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The England U20 star has made just two appearances from the bench in the Premier League so far this season; a total of 19 minutes.
His desire for regular first-team football is claimed to be the reason he refused to sign a new deal at United.

On the other hand, Frank Lampard’s youth push at Chelsea, which has seen the likes of Billy Gilmour, Reece James and Mason Mount become established first-team members, makes Stamford Bridge an attractive destination for the highly-rated teenager.
And vice versa, the prospect of only paying a compensation fee for such a talent makes Gomes an attractive target for the Blues.
Manchester United, however, are still hoping Gomes will follow the footsteps of Tahith Chong, who has already signed a new contract.
Solskjaer told the Metro in March: “We hope we can convince him [Gomes] in the near future and long term future that he’s a Manchester United player.”
