AC Milan have reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, but they still have to negotiate with the Blues who reportedly want £15million.
It is safe to say the 25-year-old is not in Chelsea manager Frank Lampard’s plans for next season.
Bakayoko has spent the past two seasons on loan at Milan and Monaco after an underwhelming first season at Stamford Bridge in 2017/18.
As Chelsea may want to raise funds for more potential signings, the former Monaco midfielder is reportedly among the players they are willing to offload this summer (Sky Sports).
And Bakayoko is reportedly close to a return to Milan where he had a successful loan spell in 2018/19.
According to a report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the France international has agreed to cut his wages by 50%, from €6m (£5.4m)-a-year at Chelsea to €3m (2.7m)-a-year with bonus he would earn at San Siro.
The report said that Milan have begun talks with Chelsea and they are keen on getting the deal done soon so they can focus on preparations for the next season.
The Blues, however, reportedly want €20m (£15m) for Bakayoko which is about €5m more than what Milan are hoping to pay (€15m or £13.5m).
The final transfer fee would be expected to be in that region, the report added.
Bakayoko made 31 league appearances for Milan in 2018/19 and helped them to finish in fifth place.
Last season, at his old club Monaco, Bakayoko made 20 league appearances but could only help them secure a ninth-place finish, although the league ended earlier than planned due to the coronavirus pandemic.
