Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are both reportedly interested in Celtic’s Josip Juranovic, who’s been linked recently as a Chelsea target.

Juranovic is a talented defender that plays his club football with Scottish giants Celtic.

The 27-year-old has become a bit more of a household name in the past month due to his performances on the World Cup stage with Croatia, who were beaten in the semi-finals by Argentina this week.

He’s an all-action right-back that’s performed so consistently for Croatia, who face Morocco this Saturday in the World Cup third place play-off.

Barcelona interested in Josip Juranovic

According to TMW, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have both set sights on Juranovic as a potential target ahead of the January transfer window next month.

This comes after journalist Ben Jacobs shared on Twitter that Chelsea are also eyeing a potential swoop for the Celtic full-back.

Most would assume that Chelsea’s interest in Juranovic is a new thing that’s been inspired by his excellence at the World Cup. Incidentally, you do always get breakout stars at international tournaments that earn themselves big moves at club level.

However, 90min said back in August the Croatia star was on the Blues radar.

Described as “fantastic” by Gary Neville, Juranovic is certainly an interesting name to watch out for now in next month’s transfer window.

The entrance of Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to the transfer race certainly heats things up.

For Chelsea, the Croatian man looks an ideal replacement and back-up for Reece James on the right of defence.
