Todd Boely reportedly wants to sell Chelsea player Emerson Palmieri during this summer transfer window amid interest from West Ham.

Boehly, who’s the Chelsea co-owner and interim sporting director, has been actively involved in the club’s busy transfer activity so far this summer.

According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, Boehly’s “preference” is to sell Chelsea defender Emerson.

The 28-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but it looks like he’s quite far down the pecking order of his manager Thomas Tuchel.

As it stands, the left-back has Marc Cucurella, Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso ahead of him in his preferred position.

According to The Guardian, West Ham have seen an opening bid worth £13million rejected by Chelsea for Emerson.

The report claims that the Blues have set an asking price of £15million they want interested clubs to meet.

Let’s see if the Hammers now make the small adjustment by offering an extra £2million to finalise the transfer.

It’s not very surprising to hear that Emerson is being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

He spent the 2021/22 season on loan with French side Lyon, but he could end up playing across London if West Ham play their cards right.

The Italian full-back definitely needs to find a new permanent home where he plays regularly, so it’s a deal that should be in the best interests of all parties to get arranged.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel previously said Emerson’s got “unbelievable qualities”, which is why £15million seems a decent fee for a very steady defender.
