Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma is reportedly happier working under Roberto De Zerbi than he ever was under Chelsea’s Graham Potter.
Mitoma, 25, is a talented Japanese winger that’s starting to make his impact in the Premier League during recent weeks.
The left-winger had to be patient in the opening stages of the season at Brighton, which was at a time when Potter was still the manager.
However, he’s now starting to thrive in England with the help of current Seagulls boss De Zerbi.

Kaoru Mitoma rise
According to The Telegraph, Mitoma actually ‘loved’ the brief time he worked with Potter before he left the Amex Stadium to become Chelsea’s head coach.
However, the report says the forward is ‘even happier’ now he’s being coached by De Zerbi.
Mitoma is such an exciting wide player that Premier League full-backs are starting to fear because of his express pace and superb dribbling.
He didn’t get much time to work with Potter due to the fact he spent the 2021/22 season out on loan. The Japan international was then mainly restricted to substitute appearances at the start of this current campaign.
It’s easy to see why he prefers De Zerbi given he’s now thriving in the starting line-up.

It would have been interesting to see if Mitoma developed into the same kind of player at Brighton under Potter. His track record was fantastic, so our guess is a definitive yes.
Potter has proven in his managerial career to date he’s a great man-manager.
His task at Stamford Bridge is to operate with some of the game’s most high-profile individuals, which is something that may take time.
It’s worth noting that Blues midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, 19, has claimed he’s loving life under Potter right now.
