Enzo Fernandez close to joining Chelsea
It appears like this transfer saga is racing towards its conclusion.
Record claimed on Monday that Fernandez skipped Benfica training, so his potential departure from the Portuguese club won’t surprise anyone.
There’s going to be a lot of excitement within the Chelsea fanbase that they’re on the brink of bringing such a talented individual to Stamford Bridge midway through the season.
Fernandez, who turns 22 later this month, is now well known to football fans after a magnificent winter.
The all-action central midfielder was a pivotal player for an Argentina side that lifted the World Cup trophy in Qatar, winning young player of the tournament as well for his dazzling performances.
Described as “brilliant” by Chris Sutton during the World Cup, he’s one of the game’s most exciting youngsters.

A £100million-plus transfer is going to bring a lot of pressure on Fernandez if he completes his move to the Premier League in Chelsea colours. However, he does look tailor-made to do well in England with his attributes as a complete midfielder.
His aggression, physicality and technique is everything Chelsea need adding in their midfield right now.
There are some big games coming up in January for the Blues, so the sooner Fernandez signs and is integrated, the better.
