English Championship side Bristol City are reportedly keen on Chelsea star Ethan Ampadu, who is currently out on loan at German side RB Leipzig.
According to Bristol Live, Bristol City are showing interest late in the January transfer window in signing the 19-year-old.

It is understood that the Wales international is keen on a return to England due to the fact he’s made just five appearances in all competitions this season since his switch to Leipzig.
But the report details that Chelsea don’t have a recall clause on the teenage defender, which means Bristol City will only be able to swoop for him if Leipzig terminate his loan with them.

Ampadu’s move to the Bundesliga in the summer looked an ambitious one and it was a big ask for him to break into the Leipzig team on a regular basis, especially as they sit top of their league table and are in the Champions League knockouts.
A loan switch to Bristol City mid-season would be great for his development, as he would surely be starting every game and would improve massively.

He’s a ball-playing centre-back that has shown he can drop into midfield too and hasn’t looked out of place during his 12 senior career matches for Chelsea.
There is no reason why Ampadu can’t be a long-term solution for Frank Lampard’s squad at Stamford Bridge, but he needs to be playing regularly to fill his potential.
