Burnley are reportedly expecting that their first-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope could be lured away by Chelsea this summer.
According to TEAMtalk, the Clarets are ready to give Joe Hart a chance to resurrect his career in case Pope leaves the club, although they may also consider other options.
The report mentioned Chelsea are very keen on bringing Pope to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The 27-year-old tops the Premier League clean-sheets table with 11 games without conceding this season, six more than Kepa has managed at Chelsea.
Pope still has three years on his contract at Turf Moor with a one-year extension option.
On the other hand, despite returning to his post as Chelsea’s number one in the last two games, Kepa was sidelined for six consecutive matches after his poor performance against Arsenal in January.
Chelsea have been linked with a potential summer move for a number of candidate goalkeepers .
The Blues will also likely be looking at potential back-up goalkeepers since Willy Caballero’s contract is entering its final months and the 38-year-old will be free to leave in the summer.
