Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a deal for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who really wants to complete a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
According to ESPN, the 22-year-old is “keen” on making a move to London to join Champions League holders Chelsea.
The report explains that Spanish side Sevilla are demanding an up front transfer fee for the centre-back. It is believed the clubs are nearing an agreement worth €50million (£43million) for his signature.
In addition, the Blues are expected to sell Kurt Zouma to West Ham, so that will allow them to press ahead with a swoop for Sevilla’s star.
It’s no surprise to hear Kounde wants to join the Chelsea ranks when you consider they are European champions, along with the fact they’ve got a really exciting young squad.

Jules Kounde could end up being a serious bargain
If you look at the kind of player Kounde is right now, he looks perfect to make an instant impact in the Premier League.
The Frenchman has the kind of speed, power and awareness that should suit the English game. Also, it’s easy to imagine him working in a back-three system given his attributes.
The rumours linking him to West London are starting to gather some real pace in the last few days and signing him would be another serious coup this summer.
Romelu Lukaku joining to sort out the striker position has been gigantic. In contrast, Kounde would be adding even more quality to a defensive core that is already stacked with serious talent.
The centre-half wouldn’t be a nailed-on starter given the competition, but his potential means a near-£40million fee is a no-brainer.
