Chelsea have reportedly found out the huge price tag Borussia Dortmund have placed on attacker Erling Haaland, which has cast doubt about whether or not they could pull off a transfer for him.
According to ESPN, the Blues are one of several European giants that have an interest in the 20-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich the others mentioned in the report.
It is explained though that Chelsea believed they could tempt the centre-forward to Stamford Bridge, but this was before German club Dortmund put a new price tag on him.
The report states that Dortmund hope to keep the goal machine for another year after sticking a €180million (£153.8million) valuation on him.
Haaland, who earns £141,000-a-week (Salary Sport), is already viewed as one of the world’s best at such a young age.
He’s currently scored 33 goals in 31 games across all competitions this season.

If you look at Haaland as a player, he’s got all the tools you’d want in a striker. The Norwegian left footer is quick, strong, intelligent, clinical, and dominant in the air.
His price tag always seemed like it was going to be astronomical, although in today’s market some might view around £150million a good deal for him.
It would be a surprise if Chelsea to obtain his signature in any event.
