Chelsea could decide to make a move for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez later in the transfer window.
That is according to a report from talkSPORT.
They claim that Chelsea are currently considering a potential move for Emiliano Martinez, 30, this summer.
It is understood that Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino has identified Aston Villa’s number one as his main transfer target for the goalkeeper position.
However, the report explains that any approach from Chelsea is likely to take place further down the line, with the Blues currently focused on signing new midfielders.

We certainly agree that it’s vital to get some midfielders through the door before looking in-between the sticks.
As it stands, Chelsea have a decent first-choice keeper with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was one of the club’s more positive performers last season.
However, there’s always been question marks around the 28-year-old’s overall game from supporters.
He certainly doesn’t provide the same kind of presence as someone like Martinez, who’s a massive character that starred in Argentina winning the World Cup last winter.

Joe Cole described Martinez as an “outstanding” goalkeeper last year and urged Chelsea to try to bring him to Stamford Bridge (All to Play For podcast).
Is he going to get his wish by the time the summer window closes?
