Chelsea could reportedly be offered the chance to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard.
According to the Evening Standard, the 26-year-old Bayern star may be offered to Chelsea during this summer transfer window.
With Thomas Tuchel’s Blues linked to several defenders already this summer, it sounds like there may be a new option on the table to try bring to Stamford Bridge.
Pavard, who won a Bundesliga league title last season with Bayern, is an extremely versatile talent.
The France international is very comfortable playing as either a centre-back or right-back, albeit he tends to play the latter when representing his country.
It was claimed earlier in the window he’s a player the Blues do have an interest in, too.

Chelsea could be offered Pavard
It’s going to be interesting to see if Bayern’s £31.4million title winning defender is someone Chelsea really want in their squad once he’s made available to them.
He’s got the characteristics to play in either the back three or at wing-back, which is automatically a massive tick against his name.
On paper, the Frenchman looks like someone that could be a great like-for-like replacement for Blues star Cesar Azpilicueta. As it stands, Chelsea are reportedly planning on blocking Azpilicueta’s transfer to Barcelona, though.

Entering prime years
There’s a theme emerging in Chelsea’s first two signings of the new ownership, which is that both Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly should be in the prime of their careers.
Aged 26, Pavard would be a signing for the now if he moved to West London.
He was a consistent performer with 36 games across all competitions last season for Bayern, including 10 in the Champions League competition.
