Chelsea could reportedly still consider a move to sign Brighton defender Adam Webster this summer.
The Daily Mail claims the Blues are currently prioritising a deal for Leicester’s 21-year-old centre-back Wesley Fofana, with two bids for him rejected so far.
It is understood Thomas Tuchel’s side are eyeing potential alternatives to the Leicester talent, though.
The report claims Brighton centre-half Webster is a player Chelsea could end up moving on to if they fail in their Fofana pursuit.
Apparently, the 27-year-old has been on the Blues radar ever since a superb individual performance against them last season.

Chelsea consider Adam Webster
Chelsea were linked with Brighton star Webster back in February, and his name has popped up again this morning in the transfer rumour mill.
With the Fofana saga appearing to drag on, it’s smart planning to get alternative targets lined up.
It’s obvious to everyone that Tuchel needs to bring in at least another centre-back to his squad during the next couple of weeks.

Described as “outstanding” by Alan Shearer, Webster has grown into a real key defender in Graham Potter’s Brighton line-up.
His £20million transfer fee a few years ago has turned out to be a real bargain for Brighton, but it’s unclear on how much they would demand to grant his sale this summer.
The ball-playing centre-back is excellent operating in a back three, so the Englishman could be a good fit at Stamford Bridge.
He’s not a marquee name like some of the other targets linked to Chelsea in this window, but he’s a really impressive defender with Premier League know-how and the potential to jump up to an elite side.
It cost an initial fee of £55million to sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton this summer. Thererfore, the Blues know they would be negotiating with tough operators if interest in Webster intensified.
