Chelsea defender Matt Miazga is reportedly set to complete another loan spell away from Stamford Bridge.

The American centre-back joined the Blues back in 2016 and has previously had loans with Vitesse Arnhem and Nantes, as well as Championship side Reading last season.

But a fresh report suggests that the 25-year-old will now head to Belgium for a new challenge.

According to Goal, Miazga is joining up with Anderlecht on a season-long loan and he’s now back fit after a pre-season injury.

The report explains that a deal has been agreed for him to join Anderlecht and he’s held discussions with their manager Vincent Kompany, who is regarded as a Premier League legend from his playing days with Manchester City.

Miazga has previously played two competitive first-team games for Chelsea, but it seems extremely unlikely that he will break into Frank Lampard’s squad in the future and he should be trying to impress to earn a move elsewhere.

The 18-time capped USA international is a ball-playing centre-back with composure at the back and his 6ft 4in frame means he’s strong in the air too.

Chelsea have a whole lost of individuals right now playing their football out on loan, with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Ethan Ampadu two players with potential futures in West London.

But Miazga should be focusing on playing regularly football and he could do with some better injury luck.
