Chelsea are interested in signing Leeds United youngster Wilfried Gnonto, according to reports

Wilfried Gnonto, who’s just 19, is one of the most exciting young talents across the Premier League.

TalkSPORT claims that there is ‘genuine interest’ from Chelsea in signing the Leeds attacker

It is understood that the likes of Juventus and AC Milan have set their sights on the Italy international.

The report adds that if Leeds sold Gnonto this summer, it’s likely they would make a ‘huge profit’ on the £4million they paid for him.

Gnonto is enjoying an eye-catching debut season at Elland Road, scoring four goals and making three assists in 21 first-team appearances so far.

It’s a challenging campaign for a Leeds side in the thick of a relegation battle, but the Italian teenager is one of the brightest sparks for them on the pitch.

His pace and directness is a big part of his game. In fact, he’s very much an old-school winger who loves to run at full-backs 1v1.

Gnonto admitted last month that he’s a great admirer of Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling.

Could the duo be teammates at Stamford Bridge next season?

We can definitely see similarities in their games between Gnonto and Sterling, albeit the former is still an emerging talent learning at the highest level.

It feels like the Leeds rising star is destined for the top in years to come, but Chelsea’s last focus right now should be on signing another winger. Instead, they need an out-and-out number nine to score a hatful of goals next season.
