Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud is reportedly wanted by two European clubs.
According to the Football.London, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are both keen on trying to sign the 33-year-old.
It is understood that the left-footed striker is ready to leave Stamford Bridge in January and manager Frank Lampard will grant his exit, with eyes on bringing in a replacement attacker.
The report explains that the France international has plans to join a team where he plays more and wants to join a top level club, but there is the possibility that he stays in the Premier League still.
Chelsea don’t plan on extending his deal beyond the end of the season when it’s due to expire and he could be a mid-season departure.
GIroud is a senior member of the Blues squad, but it looks like the average age could go down even further with his exit on the cards.
Tammy Abraham has stepped up as the first-choice striker so well since returning from a loan spell with Aston Villa, while Michy Batshuayi has been preferred to provide cover at striker.
Giroud certainly still has the ability to perform at a high level, which is why it’s no surprise to see Atletico and Inter chasing his signature in the New Year.
But his time at Stamford Bridge has come to natural end following Abraham’s introduction and he’s only played in seven senior games this season.
