Chelsea forward Kai Havertz could leave Stamford Bridge this summer but is unlikely to join former manager Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.
It was Tuchel who established Havertz as a centre forward rather than an attacking midfielder at Chelsea and they worked quite well together.
At his new club, Bayern, Tuchel will likely expect to sign a new number nine in the summer.
Eric Choupo-Moting has been Bayern’s first-choice striker since Robert Lewandowski’s exit, and while he has a relatively good goalscoring record, he is already 34.
So it is easy to see why Havertz has been linked with a potential reunion with Tuchel in Germany.

Sky Germany claims that the former Bayer Leverkusen ace, whose current deal expires in 2025, could leave Chelsea this summer, but Bayern is an unlikely destination for him.
“Havertz is not an issue at FC Bayern and will not be in the summer either,” Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg explained.
Well, the claim that Havertz is among the players that could leave Chelsea this summer is arguably more surprising than the reported lack of interest from Bayern in him.
Tuchel obviously rates him as a player, but he sees him as a second striker rather than a number nine and Bayern already have highly-rated Jamal Musiala, who is currently their leading goalscorer, in this position.
Chelsea are expected to be in the market for a new striker, too, and this might have explained why Havertz could leave, but as it stands, Graham Potter sees him as the first choice in this position.
