Report: Chelsea have agreed personal terms with £68m star, but he's now close to joining league champions
Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Monaco youngster Aurelien Tchouameni, but he’s on the verge of joining Spanish giants Real Madrid.
According to 90min, the 22-year-old’s actually agreed personal terms with Chelsea already.
It is understood the French midfielder has an agreement in place with the Blues, as well as Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
However, the report explains that Madrid are close to a “final agreement” for the Monaco talent after a breakthrough in transfer negotiations.
Monaco have been holding out for a transfer fee of around £68million compared to the £50million originally suggested by Spanish and European champions Madrid. Apparently, the final deal could be worth £70million-plus with add-ons.
Tchouameni on verge of joining Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid seems like the place to be, especially after winning the Champions League last month to go alongside their La Liga title this campaign.
Los Blancos have always attracted some of the best players to the Bernabeu, and they’ll hope Monaco’s rising star is another in the making.
The defensive midfielder was integral for his French side this season, making 50 appearances across all competitions.
There’s been a load of transfer speculation involving him already building up to the summer. For instance, it was reported he was Chelsea’s number one midfield target for the upcoming window.
However, Madrid appear to have won the race for Tchouameni’s signature.
