Chelsea reportedly began talks with Borussia Dortmund to sign Erling Haaland at the beginning of June, according to the Daily Mail.
This particularly transfer saga feels like its been going on for an eternity, with so many stutters and stops along the way.
It was recently claimed by Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast that Haaland is anticipating a move to Stamford Bridge next season.

However, it feels like we’ve been down this route before and the outcome is usually the same.
There are at least two things in this scenario that seem reasonably clear.
Dortmund don’t want to let Haaland leave; can you blame them?
41 goals in 41 games does not come round very often from a player of his age.
Yet, if they were to sell the 20-year-old, he certainly won’t be go cheaply.

The total cost to sign the Norwegian could come close to £170m (Daily Mail), which is slightly more than the previously estimated £150m (Telegraph) tag.
Working with Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola is also potentially causing issues.
Not to mention the fact BVB have just agreed to let Jadon Sancho join Manchester United.

Combine all these ingredients and the end result feels pretty sticky.
If there is ever going to be a final outcome, of course.
Thankfully for Chelsea, the summer window does not close until the 31st of August, giving them plenty of opportunities to land their star striker once again.
