Chelsea could reportedly compete with Manchester Untied this summer in the race to sign Ajax winger Antony.
It’s been reported this week that Man United are closing in on signing the Ajax star for around £40million. Fresh claims on Thursday suggest Chelsea could still make a late attempt to beat their Premier League rivals to him, though.
According to 90min, Thomas Tuchel’s Blues could fight Man United still to sign talented Brazilian Antony.
It is understood Chelsea have actually entered talks with the Ajax forward’s agents.
In addition, the report states the 22-year-old has signalled his intent to leave Amsterdam this summer after two impressive seasons playing in Holland.

Chelsea compete to sign Antony
Antony, who’s been described by Man United manager Erik ten Hag as “fantastic” in the past, could excite Premier League audiences if he moves to England for the first time in his career.
The Brazil international is a skilful right-winger that extremely effective on his favoured left foot. He finished last season with 12 goals and 10 assists in just 32 Ajax appearances across all competitions.
His transfer links to Old Trafford have been regular this summer, something which would give him the chance to reunite with his former boss Ten Hag. However, it sounds like Chelsea could still gatecrash the party late on.
It’s worth pointing out that Leeds winger Raphinha, who’s reportedly a potential target for the Blues in this window, is a player with a lot of similarities to Antony.
It seems obvious that Chelsea are trying to reinforce the attacking options at Stamford Bridge before next season, especially in the wide positions.
