Chelsea have enquired with Achraf Hakimi’s representative about the situation regarding Lautaro Martinez.

According to FCInterNews, the Blues brought up Martinez during a conversation with Hakimi’s agent, Alejandro Camano.

Coincidently, Camano looks after both Inter Milan players, so Chelsea clearly took their chance to try kill two birds with one stone.

Hakimi is under serious scrutiny from the Stamford Bridge side, who have already placed a bid for Inter’s right back.

Martinez meanwhile has previously been mentioned within the Blues transfer circles, but never quite topped the pile.

Chelsea have already been linked with Romelu Lukaku, another man from Inter, but their attempts have fallen short.

However, with Thomas Tuchel keen to add another centre-forward to his squad, all possible options are being explored.

Therefore, a move for Lukaku’s strike partner could still be on the cards.

Whilst the Belgian was Serie A’s main attraction, Martinez too enjoyed a very successful, if slightly less sensational, season.

In 48 appearances, he scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists.

The Argentine international already has Lionel Messi’s approval.

“I think I’ve already mentioned that Lautaro is an impressive forward, especially because I think he’s very complete,” said the Barcelona icon during an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

Barca have been interested in Martinez for some time and a link up with Messi would be very welcome.

The 23-year-old’s Inter contract doesn’t run out until 2023, but FCInterNews state he is refusing to sign a renewal.

If Chelsea were to pounce, perhaps the time is now.
