Chelsea are reportedly in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a potential swap deal that includes Tammy Abraham for Erling Haaland.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are pursuing a deal this summer to try sign centre-forward Haaland.

It is understood the Blues have made contact to explore whether or not Dortmund would be interested in Abraham, either as part of a deal for Haaland or in a separate transfer.

The report says it would cost Chelsea more than £150million to sign Haaland. However, including their own £40million-rated Abraham as part of a bid would help drive down the price tag.

A player-plus-cash transfer seems the most realistic way to secure Haaland’s signature.

Haaland, 20, is a goal machine that netted 41 times in 41 games for Dortmund in the 2020/21 season.

The left footed £141,000-a-week striker was called “outstanding” by interim Dortmund boss Edin Terzic back in March.

Haaland will make Chelsea title contenders

For Haaland, he’s in the position where surely any club in the world would love to sign him.

Chelsea can build on winning the Champions League by launching a bid for the Premier League title next season. However, they are perhaps one prolific goalscorer away from doing that.

It makes sense to try include Abraham in a deal, especially as it will lower the price.

If Abraham exits this summer, he should go with massive respect from Chelsea supporters.

The 23-year-old is a brilliant forward in his own right with 30 goals in 82 Blues appearances. Also, he came through the Cobham academy.
