Chelsea may reportedly need to go through the method of paying a straight cash deal if they want to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde during this summer transfer window.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a raid for the 22-year-old from Spanish La Liga club Sevilla.
According to Football London, it’s becoming more apparent that Chelsea will need to pay a straight cash sum to get their target. The report states Sevilla will demand at least £51million (€60million) for his signature.
90min previously claimed Chelsea were looking at including their defender Kurt Zouma in a deal to sign Kounde. However, he informed the club he wasn’t interested in a move to Spain.

Chelsea should pay Kounde fee if Zouma leaves
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel needs to urge the club to sign Sevilla’s ball-playing centre-half if he loses a first-team defender this month.
Sky Sports claims Premier League and London rivals West Ham are in talks about a potential deal for 26-year-old Blues man Zouma. He’s not a nailed-on starter at Stamford Bridge, but would leave a sizeable gap in the squad.
Kounde, who could turn out to be value for money at a near-£50million fee, looks a no-brainer if Chelsea require a new centre-back.
The French youngster already looks a major talent that could play now, as well as be a long-term option.
