Tomas Kalas is someone that some Chelsea fans may find it hard to believe is still on the books at Stamford Bridge and he’s currently thriving out on loan with Bristol City in the Championship.
The 25-year-old has spent most of his time away from the Blues since he joined in 2010, making just four senior appearances.
There is now set to be a mad race on for his signature in the summer and it will be intriguing to see if he finally makes a permanent exit.
According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic are keen on the £5million-rated defender and could face competition from their Old Firm rivals Rangers.
The report also details that Bristol City have plans to try extend the centre-back’s loan beyond the summer and there are more than a dozen club keeping tabs on him.
Kalas isn’t quite at the level required to play at the top level in Maurizio Sarri’s side, but has proven himself to be quite formidable in the Championship and could be a strong fit in Scotland too.
The Czech Republic international is valued at £5million, but a bidding war between clubs for him could only help Chelsea crank his price up.
Chelsea have the likes of Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori as quality centre-backs out on loan, who seem far more likely fits to perhaps step up to the first team next season.
