Chelsea are reportedly interested in teenage midfielder Ben Chrisene from League Two club Exeter City.
According to the Sun, the Blues are keen on the 15-year-old talent and he’s already been contacted by manager Frank Lampard.
The report explains that Liverpool lead the race for the teenager though and have invited him to play for their youth team this weekend.
It is understood that Exeter are away they will lose their upcoming star and are just looking to make a tidy sum of money.
Chrisene has remarkably made his first-team debut, as he featured as a late substitute in a competitive Exeter match against Coventry City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
He’s a central midfielder that has represented England at youth level too already and is being tipped for the top.
Chelsea previously signed Ethan Ampadu from Exeter and he’s gone out on loan to German club RB Leipzig to continue his development.
The youth system at Stamford Bridge is earning rave reviews at present due to the amount of academy players now involved in the first-team, with the trio of Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount the latest to force their way into the starting XI this season.
The Blues already have Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi as big success stories to come out of the younger age groups, but it seems the production line keeps delivering.
Chelsea are allegedly losing the race to bring Chrisene to Stamford Bridge though and could miss out to Premier League leaders Liverpool.
