Chelsea have reportedly contacted the representatives of Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita about a possible move to Stamford Bridge. According to AS, the Blues are considering bringing the Spaniard to the club to strengthen the goalkeeping options available to Frank Lampard.
Christophe Lollichon, the club’s goalkeeper scout, has been in contact with Guaita’s representatives about his situation and financial demands ahead of a potential move.

Chelsea require some reinforcements in goal. The contract of current back-up stopper Willy Caballero is ending at the end of the season and that would leave the club with just one senior keeper. Kepa has come in for some serious criticism of late and needs someone to push him for the number one spot.
Lampard reportedly sees the experienced Crystal Palace shot-stopper as a good option. He has been impressive for the Eagles this season, keeping six clean sheets in the Premier League. Roy Hodgson’s side have conceded four less goals than the Blues have, and Guaita is a key contributor to that.
The 33-year-old joined Palace on a free transfer from Getafe in 2018 (BBC) and is currently earning £60,000-a-week (Spotrac). He has since proven himself as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the league.
Our view – Guaita a great option for the Blues

Guaita would be a great option for Lampard to have moving forward. He could take the understudy spot if Caballero moves on in the summer and could prove to be an upgrade on the Argentine.
He could even push Kepa for a starting spot and prove to be the better option. There is also the possibility that the Palace man is the perfect tutor for his national compatriot, and could help the 25-year-old regain his form.
