Chelsea have reportedly contacted football agent Mino Raiola over AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma as the Blues are allegedly looking to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.
The 21-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his contract with AC Milan, and Chelsea have asked Raiola to keep them updated on the contract negotiations according to the Express.
AC Milan are keen on keeping Donnarumma, but Raiola is reportedly aware of interest from high-profile clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and are ready to play hard-ball.
The report said Donnarumma is rated around £55million and such a valuation would not be a problem for Chelsea.
Chelsea spent a record-breaking £71.5m to bring Kepa from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, but the Spanish goalkeeper has fallen out favour with Frank Lampard.
He has bounced back with two heroic displays in the last two games against Liverpool and Everton, but the 25-year-old also spent six consecutive games on the sidelines prior to that.
While Kepa has had just six clean sheets in the Premier League, Donnarumma has recorded nine games without conceding – the most in Serie A.
Lampard’s second choice, Willy Caballero, is on the verge of a Chelsea exit with his contract expiring this summer, amplifying the need for a new goalkeeper this summer.
