German journalist Christian Falk has claimed Chelsea and Manchester United have contacted Timo Werner’s agent over a potential summer move.
The 24-year-old is one of the hottest properties in European football at the moment, having scored 27 goals in all competitions for RB Leipzig this season.
It comes with an impressive record of one goal every 98 minutes in the Bundesliga (BBC).
Falk, the head of football for Sport Bild, said on Twitter that both Chelsea and Manchester United have been in contact with Werner’s agent.
However, he also added that the German international is still waiting for an offer from Liverpool.

According to Transfermarkt, Werner has a release clause worth around €55-60million in his contract, but the clause must be met by June 15.
Had it not been for the financial crisis surrounding football clubs across the globe, such a price would be very tempting.
Chelsea have reportedly triggered the one-year extension option in Olivier Giroud’s contract.
However, Chelsea could still sell both Giroud and Michy Batshuayi, whose contract will also run out next year if they plan to bring Werner to Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard already has an exciting young striker in Tammy Abraham, though.
The 22-year-old has topped the club’s scoring chart, netting 13 goals in the Premier League this season.
