Chelsea have reportedly registered their interest in Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah.

According to 90min, the Blues have ‘made contact with Musah’s representatives’ to make their intrigue clear.

The United States international has seemingly made himself a popular figure with a few Premier League clubs since his move to Spain in 2019.

His adventure with Valencia has not been void of significant stats that make him standout from the crowd more than most.

He became the first American to sign for the La Liga side, after he was released from the Arsenal academy.

Just over 12-months passed by between Musah leaving North London and scoring in the Spanish top flight.

Netting against Getafe ensured he earned the status as the youngest non-Spanish player to score for Valencia.

Still only 20-years-old, the former Arsenal graduate has nearly reached the 100 game mark in a Valencia jersey.

The player’s employers will be hoping he can hit another 100, as they have apparently opened contract talks in an attempt to discourage the pursuit of Chelsea and co.

Musah’s current deal doesn’t expire until 2026, with the £86m release clause enough to bat away numerous suitors.

But money is not a massive issue at the moment when it comes to the Blues.

Todd Boehly has already demonstrated his ability to flex the financial muscle in the transfer market.

Boehly is more than likely going to doll out the dollars in January and summer, with Graham Potter’s squad still requiring a revamp.

Some of the present pack might need to make way for a fresh wave of new faces.

One of those being tipped for a Stamford Bridge departure is Christian Pulisic.

Ironically, Pulisic may potentially be heading out of the exit door when his compatriot Musah comes in the opposite direction.

The two Americans took part at the World Cup in Qatar together, with Musah declaring his admiration for the Chelsea forward.

“He brings a lot to the team, he’s a great guy off the field. The off the field, everyone sees his brilliance,” he said on Pulisic.

Perhaps Boehly would prefer more of a Stars and Stripes influence on Potter’s camp, just to make it feel a bit more like home.
