Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is now reportedly a target for London and Premier League rivals Arsenal.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are interested in signing the 28-year-old this summer as they look to strengthen in the centre of the park.
It is claimed that the Italy international is one of the options that the Gunners now have on their transfer radar this summer, but Blues manager Frank Lampard has him in his first-team plans right now.
He is on a £110,000-a-week deal (Spotrac) at Stamford Bridge and it seems unlikely he would be allowed to go on the cheap.
Jorginho is often a name that is commonly discussed with the Chelsea fanbase, as some are massively behind him and others aren’t too sure where he fits into Lampard’s plans.
The Italian was central to the ideas of ex-manager Maurizio Sarri in his strict possession-based game and sat in the ‘regista’ role in front of the back four.
Despite some criticism aimed towards him, he did make 44 appearances across all competitions last season under Lampard and is one of the senior figures in the dressing room that has worn the armband at times.
He’s started the opening two games of the league season, scoring a penalty and providing an assist in the 3-1 Brighton win.
Arsenal’s current squad already possesses former Chelsea players David Luiz and Willian, but reports suggest there is a chance they could be joined by another.
