Chelsea are reportedly strongly considering Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as a transfer target.

Osimhen, who’s got four goals in eight games this season, is a highly rated striker that is a talisman in the Napoli XI.

The 23-year-old is a powerful frontman with great strength and pace. He scored 18 goals in only 32 appearances last season, too.

Described as a “great striker” by Didier Drogba, Napoli’s centre-forward does appear to have all the physical traits that could see him suit the English game. The only potential red flag around him is his recent injury record, though.

Chelsea considering Victor Osimhen

According to 90min, Chelsea are considering signing a new forward next summer and are already searching for the best target.

It is understood that Osimhen is emerging as a favourite with Blues scouts and there are some “glowing reports” about his game.

The Nigeria international has been shortlisted now as a potential future signing, but there could be competition from Bayern Munich in the race for his signature.

It’s not a big shock to hear behind the scenes Chelsea are covering the market to search for a new No.9, especially a player with the potential and quality of Osimhen.

However, the current crop deserve this season to try prove the club don’t need to replace them with a marquee striker.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 33, has made a decent start to life in Chelsea colours. The Evening Standard claims that Aubameyang is proving to be a big hit with players and staff at Stamford Bridge.

How much longer does the experienced forward have at the top level, though?

Meanwhile, 21-year-old talent Armando Broja is showing signs that he deserves a fair crack of trying to get into the best XI.
