Chelsea are now reportedly interested in a move to sign Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes, who completed a £40million move from Lyon to St James’ Park back in January, has become an instant cult hero at Newcastle.
The 24-year-old Brazilian has been one of the most in-form midfielders in the entire Premier League this season, playing a key role for a Magpies side that currently sit fourth in the table.
It’s quite an achievement to see even Roy Keane singing his praises this campaign, particularly for being an intelligent footballer.
“You’re supposed to tick a lot of boxes. Again, we’ve seen there, tackling, running, he’s adding a few goals to it and he’s got that football intelligence,” Keane told Sky Sports earlier this month, as quoted by Football Daily.

Chelsea interested in Bruno Guimaraes
According to Goal, Chelsea are considering a swoop in the upcoming January transfer window to try bring Guimaraes to Stamford Bridge.
It is understood that Newcastle are determined to keep their South American star, though.
Therefore, the Toon are prepared to give the central midfielder their biggest ever contact with the offer of a £200,000-a-week deal.
From the outside, it looks like Guimaraes is loving life on Tyneside in Newcastle colours.
However, can one of Europe’s elite teams tempt him into a move?
Newcastle themselves are looking to break into the Premier League’s top sides, something which appears to be happening under Eddie Howe.

Guimaraes is a complete midfielder that definitely has the individual quality to play for a team like Chelsea, but you’d have to worry about how much he would actually cost to sign.
Described as “unbelievable” by Ian Wright, his reputation has risen rapidly in 2022.
Graham Potter reportedly doesn’t mind if either N’Golo Kante or Jorginho leave the Blues next summer, which threatens to leave a seismic gap in the midfield at Stamford Bridge.
It’s going to take a Guimaraes-type signing in the centre of the park to replace the aforementioned duo if they do leave.
